**According to the Cambridge learner's dictionary, convention has two meaning-the first is custom and the second is a meeting.Here it means a formal meeting.

2.renovation-(noun)
-->the condition of being restored to its former good condition
ex:The convention center is under renovation to repair damage caused by the tornado.

3.amenities-(noun)
-->things that make one comfortable and at ease
ex:My son had a difficult time adapting to life in the wilderness because of the lack of amenities he was used to.

**according to Cambridge learner's dictionary->amenty is something such as a swimming pool or shopping centre, that is intended to make life more pleasant or comfortable for the people in a town, hotel or other place.Ex: basic amenities are things considered to be necessary to live comfortably such as hot water.
